There was something I wanted to tell you,

before the night fell

and the howling wind

shook the house to its foundation.

One storm front hitting with full force

while another waited

unseen in the distance.

A last gasp from the setting sun

briefly lit up the sky

infested with dark clouds.

Barren trees in the distance

shook their limbs in a futile gesture.

Two dark shadows

pretending to be large birds

danced in the wind.

Whether they were

predator or vulture

was hard to tell.
