Here we are
Earlier today I didn’t feel like writing anything, so I did not. As the clock grew older, I thought of simply pilfering one of my older poems. While I’m not above stealing from myself, none of the ones I reviewed felt true to me in the moment.
Well, sort of. I wrote this in December and I think it sums up national-level politics (and possibly your local/state politics, depending where you reside). Of course, it's not explicitly about politics and could ring true to personal experience/relationship. And now I'm second-guessing commenting on my own poetry.
Here we are
left to our own devices
Stuttering and fluttering
on toward another crisis
