Just Another
I lie awake in the cold
I lie in wait for the snow
Whatever is lying in your self
I’m not sure I can ever know
Why you are lying to yourself
I would like to know
Are those snow flakes tumbling down
White sparkles dancing in the light
Crashing evermore into the ground
The wind sprints in and through and out
My mind whirls all about
You want to dance
But you don’t know how to speak
You don’t ever ask me for help
I assume you think I must be weak
I turn from a light crouch
To a fearsome stance
I flex my muscles at the sky
All the world travels past me
I can do nothing but wonder why
We speak the same language
But the words go screaming by
I sometimes wonder if you think at all
Or are you an automaton
Following the script laid out for you
Sometimes I wonder if you think of me at all
But I usually let those moments pass
And move on, move on.
Snow crystals falling down
So unique, cliché and all
You come crumbling down
Tears and screeches and carrying on
I pay it no mind
I’ve seen it a million times
Just another snowflake moving on
